Finally, I have found a replacement for my obsession with purple Dr. Martens: vintage Justin boots at one of my most beloved NYC vintage shops, Local Clothing (328 E 9th St). At a first glance, the mix of western, tribal, and preppy pieces featured in-store might seem like a haphazard mix, but it somehow all works together and I always feel as if I’ve wandered into a teeny attic full of treasures to unearth. For more on Local Clothing, check out their website here.
While in the East Village, I bought new canvas sneakers at the thrift shop Buffalo Exchange; if you don’t take a plastic bag with your purchase, 5 cents is donated to charity.
The sole purpose of my day wasn't just shopping-- a stop at Momofuku Milk Bar on (207 13th St. entrance) was a must. Frozen Yogurt flavors included jelly or donut with the addition of cornflake toppings. My mother and I ordered a fruit and cornflake cookie to-go, the results have yet to be tallied.
