Little Monsters Within

Monster Ball Madness
What i'm wearing: Topshop boots and sequin encrusted jacket, Only Hearts silver shirt and leggings.
The Monster Ball was full of nudity, fake blood, glitter, and feathers. Who knew the combination would make such an ingenious show? The Answer: Lady GaGa

There were two opening acts leading up to Lady GaGa’s arrival. The first was Semi-Precious Weapons, a glam rock band. They sang a song that went like, “sticky with champagne, its okay it’s your birthday,” although I could scarcely hear it over their piercing belting. There was an on stage, costume change by the lead singer, where we got an unwanted view of his “parts.”
The second act was Jason Derulo, a surprisingly great dancer, who chose one lucky girl to sing to on stage. But really what we all came for was to go gaga for Lady G.
Describing the concert doesn’t even begin to do it justice. Lady GaGa began singing with Dance in the Dark. The strobe lighting was pounding, as her face was projected onto a screen the size of the stage. A video played along in the background of a women puking what looked to be green mouth wash, atop Lady G’s golden locks.

Penny Loafers

Aerosoles loafers, GAP boys section's striped shirt, vintage bag from India, red coat by Liquid, vintage western-style belt, and my American Apparel black skirt.
I've never been more excited for a fashion collaboration than Alexa Chung's upcoming collection for Madewell. The British Import is certainly bringing the penny loafer trend back en vogue (someone alert Nancy Drew!); even Queen Blair from Gossip Girl has taken a liking to the footwear. Alexa's line is composed of all the clothes that she wears, so how could it go wrong? As Alexa tells WWD, her collection is composed of "polkadot tea dresses, dungaree dresses, high-waisted skinny jeans, oversize wool jackets with velvet and lace accents, and T-shirts with Chung’s photographs and illustrations, about 20 styles in all." I'm so utterly tempted that I've started saving up. The moment it's released, i'm there!

Boom Boom Pow

For me New Year’s is all about looking back on my year. Whether it’s the mishaps, my shining moments, or the laughs, I reflect on them all, not forgetting them in the coming year. Most women opt for sequins when it comes time for the last night of the year and while I understand the New Year’s glitz (it being the last night of the year to wear your party clothes), we often forget about those less obvious “glamorous” party choices.... keep in mind I was wearing tights and a sweater, too hehe
New Year's Eve outfit: La Canadienne ankle boots, Topshop lemon bandage skirt, Topshop "Curse of Frankenstein" crop top.

Happy New Year!
